SSBB Character review 1

OK, OK, I'll stop playing Brawl and do a character review, because I don't think I could fit everything into one huge review of the game. I'm planning on doing one a day, so you can check back everyday like Dojo. Today's is Mario - I might as well start at the top, right?

MARIO
Besides visually, only one change occurred to our good ol' plumber buddy. His down+B move changed from a tornado to F.L.U.D.D. Where did he get that spin move anyway? I was hoping F.L.U.D.D. would make it into the game when it was early in production. F.L.U.D.D. doesn't do any damage though, it just pushes things backwards, so it was kind of a trade down fighting-wise. Sometimes I find myself wishing he had that spin-move. But overall I'm happy with the change, making Mario more accurate to his games.
I would agree with the Brawl manual that Mario is an all-around character, good speed as well as strength and weight. I don't think he has what it takes to be many people's main characters, but he's good for practice and starters. I like his visual appearance in Brawl, quite an upgrade from his Melee version.
