SSBB Character review 6

6: Samus/Zero Suit Samus
From: Metroid Prime 3

Intro: The Metroid series has been one of the longer-running series from Nintendo, yet this is the first time ZSS is playable, even though she’s been seen in this suit since the beginning. Maybe they’ll make a Metroid game in which she is actually playable. It might be a while though, since the Prime Trilogy is over.
What’s new: Not much has been added to plain old Samus. Her Super Missiles are a little bit more Super Metroid-esque: being shorter and wider than the Melee ones. And, of course, there’s the Zero Suit which is much, much nimbler than the Power Suit. I find the Zero Suit great for the Smash the Targets mode.
Final Smash: Zero Laser: Truly a devastating attack, but I don’t ever remember seeing this in any actual Metroid games. Even though you lose your Power Suit, I find it much easier to play as ZSS, so it’s a double plus if you get the Smash Ball. Power Suit Samus: If you prefer the Power Suit to the Zero Suit, go for it. Personally, the only reason I would use this is if I planned on using Zero Laser in the very near future. It actually hurts nearby opponents when you put on your Power Suit! How dumb is that? A nuclear explosion doesn’t go off when I get dressed in the morning.
Other interesting stuff: Her Gravity and Phazon Suit are available as before, and additionally, her Dark Suit! All in all, Samus is a great character, and hasn't lost any of her Melee-y goodness.
