SSBB Character review 9

Meta Knight
HS whines (:P) when I go out of order... So I'll go to Meta Knight anyway.
This was one of the characters I was really excited about playing when it was first revealed. Not because I liked him as a character *killed by Kirby fans* but because he looked like a great Brawler. It turns out that he can jump as much as Kirby, all of his B moves can be used as recovery attacks, and he has strong smash moves.

His regular B move turns him into a whirling tornado of anger, which you can move left and right for a small period of time, and it damages on contact. If you press B repeatedly in mid-attack, it will last longer and allow him to rise into the air. His over+B move turns him into a... sideways-spiraling tornado, which you can angle left and right, very handy as a recovery move. Down+B is sort of tricky, he disappears, then reappears in the same spot or on a different location depending on how you move the control stick. You can press A to do an attack on arrival. Also can be used as a recovery move. His real recovery move seems to be the least effective to me. He does a mid-air spiral, then floats downward/sideways, but mostly downward. I suppose it could be more useful if you really get the hang of it, but I find myself using his other B moves more often, or not at all - just leave it to is many jumps.

I think his down-side is his A attacks. They're all the same, quick slices with the sword. You feel as if you're being cheap by using the same move all the time, but you really aren't. This kind of makes me want to stick to his B moves, but that gets repetitive as well (spinning attacks). It's like there isn't enough variety, which is my gripe for him.

His Final Smash is somewhat hard to pull of at first. If you're standing near enough to your opponent(s), and they have enough damage, they die. It's pretty simple, but kind of hard to pull off.

I like Meta Knight a lot, but it's just those A moves...
