Comet here, with a preview of Wii Fit.
-Wii Fit-
I'm sure you all know that Wii Fit is $90. I think that's overpriced. Too much. Who would pay $90 to play a game that supposedly makes you lose weight? I think they should lower the price down to around $70, even with the Balance Board. I also think that this game will be a must-buy, because of how you interact with it and the gameplay. Nintendo is going to lose money if they don't lower the price. -Comet
I think you're right Comet, $90 is a lot. A standard new game is $50, and Wii Fit doesn't even pack as much as those! Think about it, Metroid Prime 3, SSBB, those are $50. Wii Fit couldn't compare on it's own. Now, it comes with the peripheral Balance Board, we have to take that into consideration. Even if the game on it's own justifies $50, we're still paying $40 for the Board. Now, it can be a high-tech piece of equipment or whatever, but really it could be simple technology. Think of a bathroom scale, if you stand on it, weigh yourself, then it "knows" how much you weigh. Then if you stand on two, it can "know" where your weight is spread out. Maybe I'm thinking about this too much, but I am having trouble accepting how this Board is affecting the price tag. Of course, I may change my mind once I try it out. -Green
Nintendo is making games for the whole family, but if they want to get more money, they should make more hard-core games. Like First Person Shooters, such as Metroid Prime. -Comet
You're right, I think we could use more video games for the hard-core, but Nintendo is trying out this now area which hasn't had focus on it. So far, it's working well for them. But the problem is that we don't get enough hard-core games. Sure, we can name all the ones that came out, but there is a lack. I'm sure Nintendo struggles with this. -Green
Back to Wii Fit; The game, as I've seen, is very different than all the other games I've seen, due to the control. Like I said before, it wold be a must-buy, but let's not forget the pricing. This is the problem, it needs to be lowered, lowered to around $70. It's almost a hundred dollars as it is! Nintendo needs to hear this also, I think it would sell much more. -Comet
Hmm, we'll see once it comes out. I'm sure that many families who want a work-out program will be excited to get it for $90. There's many sides to this argument, but only time will tell.
Thanks for previewing Wii Fit with me, Comet. -Green
