Owner's note: Due to the negative elements noted in this game, this is not a game recommended by Gamah Watch.
The final game in the trilogy that could be the most well known games in the world. It is not only known for its amazing story line, but also is well known for the addition of XBOX LIVE, which allows for gamers with similar interests to blow the living monkeys out of each other from all across the world.
BACKGROUND:
Halo 3 takes place in the the year 2552. At this time, the human race has been at war with a terrifying alien race known as the covenant. There is quite a large story line and, for lack of attention span, I will not go into extreme detail. However, the halo, which is a giant ring-like structure in space, which is later discovered to be a life ending weapon, is worshipped as a "god" by the Covenant. It turns out that we accidentally landed on this said "ring." Master Chief, which is the character you play as, takes the liberty of shattering the first two rings into a billion pieces...... each. the graphics in this game are top notch and the story line is amazing. And that is only half the game.
XBOX LIVE:
If you have never heard of XBOX LIVE, the fact is you have never truly been alive. It puts players from the U.S., Mexico, Central America, Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Alaska all into the same game with addition of the 5 new satellites BUNGIE launched, funded by Bill Gates with MICROSOFT, into the Earth's orbit on February 3rd in 2003. With many unlockables and achievements that could keep you busy till the end of time, the replay value for this game is extremely high.
BOTTOM LINE:
The bottom line on this game is that it has amazing graphics,a great story, an amazing soundtrack (c'mon who doesn't enjoy listening to the low rumbling of an Augustinian Monk chant.), an amazing control scheme that makes playing not only easy, but fun, and the replay value and level of entertainment levels are both very high. The downfall for me, personally, is the rating. This M rated game probably isn't for children. With extreme levels of violence, more than enough blood and gore, and quite a few mild profanities which include using the Lord's name in vain is more than unsettling. The reason I play, you might ask after I said all these negative things about the game...... the game is just to stinkin' addictive. If you're in the marked for a FPS (first- person shooter) and are over the age of 16, you can't find a better game.
